Supercars has announced it will hold two events in New Zealand starting next year. Ruapuna Raceway, near Christchurch, will host the first-ever Supercars event on New Zealand’s South Island as part of a three-year deal. CEO Shane Howard expressed excitement for bringing Supercars to the South Island for the first time, praising the local support. Ruapuna Raceway, 3.33km in length, will undergo upgrades ahead of the event. The city of Christchurch and various organizations have shown strong commitment to making the races a reality, with event details yet to be confirmed. The new event on the South Island will complement the existing round in Taupo, offering a two-week celebration of Kiwi motorsport.
